Party Time! Excellent! Don’t Miss Garthapalooza on Friday Night at Music Hall of Williamsburg

July 11, 2018

Sometimes the toughest decision to make on a hot summer night is whether to see a great movie or check out a host of terrific bands. But thanks to the people who’ve brought you fun-loving events like Rex Manning Day three years ago at Rough Trade NYC, you won’t have to choose this Friday at Music Hall of Williamsburg because BBQ Films host Garthapalooza. Wayne and Garth’s favorite Aurora, Ill., club, Gasworks, will come back to life for a night of music, comedy and full-on ’90s immersion. Expect a screening of Wayne’s World, themed drinks, plenty of “Bohemian” head-banging and a killer lineup of female-fronted bands who really wail, including Calico Cooper (Alice’s daughter), Lyons, Early Riser and Young Thieves (performing as Crucial Taunt)—plus an appearance by the Shitty Beatles. And as a mega bonus, a portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, a nonprofit music education and mentoring program that empowers girls, women and/or gender nonbinary folks through arts and music. Way! Just remember: No “Stairway.”
