DARKSIDE (Nicolas Jaar + Dave Harrington)
DARKSIDE (Nicolas Jaar + Dave Harrington)
DARKSIDE began when a converter plug exploded in Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington’s Berlin hotel room during their summer tour. When the smoke cleared, they knew their twin, white Genelec speakers were fried. But rather than retire for the night, they both plugged into a computer and merged sounds, forming DARKSIDE.

After Dave and Nico returned to New York, they continued their symbiosis in Brooklyn recording sessions. In a dark basement, they conceived a self-titled, three track EP that feels like searching for pleasure where you know you shouldn’t. The beat in this clandestine affair has just enough restraint. By the time Darkside concludes, you know the catharsis is worth the sin.
Soul Keita
Soul Keita
Soul Keita is an Ethiopian musician and painter based in Paris. He began writing songs at twelve years old when his father taught him to play the kissar, an ancient East African lyre.

Soul grew up in Addis Ababa, but left home for secondary school in Cairo. A series of personal setbacks led him to nearly quit making music, until he met Nikita and Nico on a school trip to the Sonora desert. Their collaboration re-inspired Soul, and when he returned to Egypt, he began meeting and playing alongside local musicians.

In addition to contributing to the Sunset of a Clown series and Inès, Soul has produced his own Democracy EP. Since his graduation, Soul has been composing music and creating works from his new home in Paris.
