Shy Girls
Shy Girls
Vocalist and producer Dan Vidmar, a.k.a Shy Girls, first came to attention in 2013 with his slow burning, sax-tinged single "Under Attack." In the fall of 2013 he released his first EP, Timeshare, with boutique label Hit City USA, which featured seductive electronic pop jams such as "Second Heartbeat." Shy Girls quickly started garnering attention and acclaim from an array of artists, producers and tastemakers. Vidmar has since collaborated with dance music heavyweights like Cyril Hahn, ODESZA and Jagwar Ma. He's also toured clubs across the country in support of artists such as HAIM, Little Dragon and Grammy award-winning R&B singer Maxwell. In winter of 2015, Vidmar self-released a mixtape,4WZ, featuring his favorite collaborators in the realms of R&B and hip-hop (Tei Shi, Rome Fortune, Antwon and Junglepussy).

Vidmar returns with "I Am Only A Man," an electrifying piece of cinematic avant-soul. The single offers a 4:10 glimpse into the next evolution of Shy Girls' material, much of which takes a detour towards the progressive. Crash cymbals, detuned pianos, guitar jams, and modulated passages mark a clear evolution from Vidmar's previous material. Shy Girls' newest body of work is as-of-yet unnamed but is expected to be released in 2016.
Flamingosis
Flamingosis
"Flamingosis (the name comes from a freestyle Frisbee move that his father invented) is an electronic music producer, beatboxer and entertainer. Gathering influences from other beat makers, such as Flying Lotus, J Dilla and Madlib, Aaron is able to take these sources of inspiration in order to come up with his own unique style."
NOIA
NOIA
Gisela Fulla-Silvestre was born and raised in Barcelona, the only daughter of her activist and intellectual parents. Her father was part of a clandestine Communist party that fought against the Franco dictatorship, and her mother was a pioneer in the field of child psychology. Together they campaigned for democracy in Spain, instilling in Gisela a deep reverence for community along the way. In addition to revolutionary discourse, music was a constant in her home – traditional Catalan, Rumba, Flamenco and French artists were regularly heard. Her young mind became fixated on philosophy while her heart grew obsessed with music.

In 2011 Gisela finished a degree in film scoring & sound design from Berklee and moved to New York to begin working in the field. During the day, she composed for film and at night she produced solo music in her Bed-Stuy apartment. Her contemplative nature poured into the material, resulting in melodies that were sad and forlorn, but never angry or dark. Her hooks were sticky, but her sonic palette was weird and personal, not unlike the films of Pedro Almodovar whose work is both bizarre and beautiful.

Under the name NOIA, Gisela will launched her debut in fall 2016, which reflect her myriad musical and cultural influences. Everything from Dancehall to Tropicalia to leftfield R&B are present, while the lyrics are sung in a mix of Spanish and English. NOIA also incorporates her work as a sound designer for film, creating a range of custom percussive sounds – her snares are stacks of assorted foley items, while her hi-hats are comprised of digital distortion trash.

Although NOIA writes from a dense creative place, her music is accessible on the surface. Both casual listeners looking for a headphone jam and serious fans demanding a deeper experience with pop music will find much to appreciate in NOIA’s productions.
