- Based in Castle Donington and formed by 16- and 17-year-olds in 2004, Late of the Pier are an indie electro band unique to their scene and one that is incredibly difficult to pinpoint. Complex but utterly danceable, with songs laced with dirty bass, synths, and video game sfx, the most common reference point is the Klaxons, but comparisons have been made to artists all over the genre map, from Prince to Frank Zappa to the Human League.

- A dance-rock act from Manchester, England, the Whip spent a few years working the indie electronic underground before making their full-length album debut in 2008 with X Marks Destination, notably produced by Jim Abbiss. At their core, the group is based around Danny Saville and Bruce Carter; other bandmembers include Lil Fee and Nathan Sudders.

- US based Ki:Theory's fresh approach to cut-n-paste music creates a unique amalgamation of sounds that is as much lo-fi and organic as it is forward thinking; invoking comparison to everything great about such artists as Beck, Four Tet, Radiohead and Sparklehorse. His recent all original EP "Brittle Branches" is out now. Ki:Theory's recent remixes include Queens of the Stone Age, UNKLE, Maps and Sasha.

- Nickel Eye is the side project of The Strokes' bassist Nikolai Fraiture. These are four excerpts from the upcoming, full-length album "The Time of the Assassins".
